Winter!

Winter has hit Gibsons hard---it is amazing! Fin is loving the snow although he's not sure of his boots. He doesn't like to walk around in anything but socks...we're trying to convince him this can't happen in snow! He just got mailed this snowsuit from Shuya in China. Lucky us! It arrived just in time.

Watching the Birds

Fin LOVES birds. He gets so excited when he sees them and can't stop pointing and smiling. Here he is watching the birds from the beach.

Happy Birthday Finley Edwin Hocking-Groves!

Fin turned one on the 17th of November. We had a couple of celebrations for him including a mini-party with a few friends and cake last weekend. He was born at 7:19pm and shortly before this time we went up into the woods behind our house and built a fire. We counted down the minutes until he was born and sang Happy Birthday as a family. We hope to make this a yearly tradition.

More Ontario

The fall leaves were beautiful and we had some nice long walks while in Ontario with Grandad Paul. Here are some lovely leaf shots and others with Grandma, Grandad, Great Grandad and Cousin Sophia.

Aunt Nikki!

Fin had a great time hanging out with Aunt Nikki in Ontario. Here are some pictures of them together.

Peekaboo

Fin has learned to be the initiator with games of Peekaboo. He will lift up his shirt to hide and pull it down. He also peeks through the glass on our french doors and then peeks around the corner at you. This picture captures a sweet moment.

Hallowe'en

Fin and I were in Ontario for Hallowe'en. Fin dressed up as a lion and posed with his third cousins. The tears show that he wasn't so sure of all the excitement that ensued (but he sure was cute).

Rainy Beach Days

The beach is one of Fin's favourite places to be---and if we stayed in when it rains, we'd never get there in the winter. Here are a few pics of some rainy beach visits.

Fin got his Hallowe'en costume already...a fantastic sombrero that we found at the Sally Ann. He's not so sure but I think it is sooo cute.

Belly Buddies reunited at PSYL

Fin and Nico got to hang out in their matching onesies for a teary reunion at PSYL. Pretty cute.

Bubbles and Cups

Fin was fascinated by his first exposure to bubbles when we went to stay with our friends Shawna and Jay (Shawna is the bubble blower seen here). His new favourite thing to do is to plunk his arm into your cup. I think he likes the feel of the water on his arm...he'll sit for a long time elbow deep in whatever you happen to be drinking. It is real comedy.
