Potty Training

After reading about Natural Infant Hygeine, Simon and I decided to make a go of toilet training Fin from a young age. He is successful in using his potty now with cues from us and we're hoping to be diaper-free before his first birthday! We'll keep you posted on how it goes. This is probably really going to embarrass him in the future.

The Great Grandparents on the Hocking side

Fin finally got to meet Great Grandpa Ted and Great Grandma Stella Hocking during a whirlwind visit to Powell River. He loved getting cuddles from both of them.

The Moby Wrap

Cousin Jess gave us a great sling hand-me-down from Sophia that we use often for hikes. The other day we had our first family trek up Soames Hill behind our house. A mere twelve weeks after delivery, I am finally able to walk! Hooray! Fin loves the sling and the cold air on his face. Notice his Dad's smokin' moustache!

Monkey Boy

Getting Fin dressed is always an adventure. Sometimes we're not quite able to get his clothes on before the squirming begins. Here are some pictures of his half-on-onesie-turned-hallowe'en costume! I think Monkey, other guesses?

Beware of the barf!

Finley excels in spitting up and I find that I am often on the receiving end of an incredibly large barf down the back of my clothes. Simon is much better at wearing a receiving blanket (aptly named) although now dubbed 'barf protector' in our house. Here is a shot of a not-so-black shirt after Fin had his way with it.

The Photo Shoot

Here are the pictures that Dan took of us at around the two week old mark. I love them. Many thanks to Dan for the cherished gift.

Bath Time!

Fin loves the bath---the warm water makes him smile and he loves to push off the sides of the tub with his feet. He certainly is a water baby! Here is a cute shot of him getting out of the tub and drying off with his froggie towel.

Aunt Nadja

Aunt Nadja came to visit with her partner Dan last night. Dan is a photographer who had taken a photo shoot of us with Fin during his first weeks. We got to see them for the first time and they are beautiful! I'll post them once I figure out how to scan them.

Cousin Extend-a-mix

I can't believe I forgot to post this one! This is the next generation on the McMaster (Onnie's maiden name) side of the family. From left to right we have Evelyn, Olivia, a sleeping Finley, Sophia, and Ben.

Around the house

We've been cozying up around the house since the cold and snow have hit the Sunshine Coast. Here's a picture of all of Si's babies (notice how many there are in the background).
